You. Better. With Alan.
Alan is building a vertically integrated health partner that unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one seamless system. Our vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all.
Our mission: Help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment.
By connecting all aspects of care (private, public, and direct to consumer) we create the most member-centric healthcare experience, reducing claims costs while generating new monetization opportunities.
We partner with tens of thousands of companies across France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Belgium 🇧🇪, and Canada 🇨🇦, serving over a million members.
How we work: our Leadership Principles
Mission is the Boss — We think long-term and are methodical optimists who take risks, seeking our mission's success above all else.
Distributed Ownership — Accountable enlightened despots: everyone owns their decisions and results.
Radical Transparency — All information is accessible and written-first, so everyone can make the best decisions asynchronously.
Always Growing — Direct, positive, and caring feedback, combined with self-growth ownership.
As our People Partner for Spain, you’ll own the full local People agenda end-to-end—while being part of a global People community. You’ll ensure Alaners in Spain have an excellent employee experience, and you’ll help our leaders grow through strong People partnership and pragmatic, compliant operations.
What you’ll do
You will lead People topics in Spain, from day-to-day operations to high-impact programs, including:
Onboarding & offboarding: deliver a smooth, values-aligned joining and leaving experience; continuously improve our processes and feedback loops (e.g., exit interviews).
Payroll & HR administration: own payroll operations with our provider, in close coordination with Finance; ensure accuracy, reliability, and great employee support.
Benefits & perks: run and continuously optimize local benefits; identify new opportunities (including potential tax-efficient options) aligned with our global approach.
Employee relations & compliance: handle individual situations with care and clarity; ensure compliance with local labor law/collective agreements while protecting our public-first culture.
People programs (local rollout): support the design/adaptation and rollout of global initiatives (engagement, learning, D&I, organizational health), including communication and basic reporting/metrics.
Automation & scalability: identify and implement ways to automate People Ops tasks and improve our knowledge base so processes don’t rely on “tribal knowledge”.
Business partnering: coach and partner with leaders on People topics (team health, performance conversations, org topics), helping them become stronger managers.
External impact: contribute to our employer presence in Spain through networking/events, and help strengthen Alan’s visibility with prospects and partners.
One global project: own or co-lead a cross-country People project, depending on your strengths and interests.
What we’re looking for
5–10 years of experience across People/HR, with strong fundamentals (employee relations, payroll/HR admin, compliance, benefits).
Business partnering mindset: you enjoy working closely with leaders and handling both strategic and hands-on topics.
Comfortable operating in an agile, scaling environment (priorities evolve; you build as you go).
Fluent in Spanish and English.
Based in Barcelona or Madrid.
