Principal Engineering Manager
We’re not one brand or one type of team. We’re a fast-growing global company made up of many disciplines – all working toward a shared goal: to power great brands, experiences, and people.
About the role:
We’re looking for a Principal Engineering Manager to lead a critical engineering area and raise the bar for how we build and deliver products. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering judgment with a deep sense of ownership.
You will work closely with Product and Design to shape solutions early, bring clarity to complex problem spaces, and help your team deliver in a predictable and sustainable way.
You’ll stay close to the work, understand what your team is building and why, and create the conditions for strong execution, healthy engineering standards and meaningful business impact.
Your daily tasks will include:
Leading a team of engineers and support them through clear direction, context, and feedback.
Partnering with Product and Design to shape solutions from the earliest stages.
Owning delivery from problem definition to execution, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum.
Driving predictable execution through thoughtful planning, realistic expectations, and transparency around progress and risks.
Maintaining a high bar for engineering quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Contributing to broader engineering improvements through experience, collaboration, and strong leadership.
Your qualifications:
Significant experience leading engineering teams in a product company.
A strong track record of delivering complex products or systems in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to operate comfortably in both technical and product discussions.
Strong ownership mindset and ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
Experience partnering closely with Product and Design.
Clear communication skills and a practical, execution-oriented approach to leadership.
You’ll be working in a modern, distributed environment, so we expect you to be comfortable operating across the following:
Languages include PHP (Symfony) as a core stack, Node.js (TypeScript), and Angular (TypeScript).
Data technologies include PostgreSQL as a primary database, along with experience working with caching solutions like Redis and exposure to MongoDB.
Infrastructure includes AWS and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
From an architecture perspective, you should be comfortable designing and operating distributed, service-oriented systems.
AI and developer productivity are part of our day-to-day work, so we expect practical experience using LLMs and coding assistants, along with an understanding of how AI can improve engineering workflows such as code quality, testing, and debugging.
Engineering practices include automated testing across different levels (unit, integration, and end-to-end), continuous delivery, and working in fast feedback environments.
We also rely on data-informed product development, including A/B testing.
Tooling and observability include working with CI/CD pipelines, modern development workflows, and monitoring distributed systems.
Our tech stack:
Backend: PHP (Symfony), Node.js (TypeScript).
Frontend: Angular (TypeScript).
Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB.
Infra: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Atlantis
Engineering Tools: Postman, Git, GitHub Copilot, PhpStorm, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus.
Remote work Tools: Jira, Miro, Google Workspace, Slack.
Development Practices: Pair Programming, Code Reviews, Continuous Integration/Deployment.
What we offer:
A global, inclusive team that’s as supportive as it is ambitious and serious about getting things done
An opportunity to work remotely or in a modern and welcoming office in Riga
Flexible working hours (start your day as late as 11 AM)
Private health insurance
