Department Overview
The Ad Sales Department is responsible for providing Rakuten Group's 'Marketing Solutions' to advertisers. Specifically, it's a sales organization that solves advertiser challenges by combining:
Rakuten data based on approximately 100 million Rakuten member IDs,
Rakuten media across around 70 services, and
AI incorporating the latest technology.
Position within the Department
This particular position is within the Sales Planning Section of that Ad Sales Department. The main mission is to maximize the sales of the sales organization through initiatives such as improving sales productivity, sales training, and sales performance management and analysis.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planning and promoting initiatives related to improving sales productivity, sales training, and customer satisfaction (CS) surveys within the Ad Sales Department.

Position Details
Overview of Responsibilities
As a member of the Sales Promotion Team within the Sales Planning Section of Rakuten's Ad Sales Department, you will be responsible for planning and promoting various initiatives aimed at improving the sales productivity of our advertising sales.
Detailed Responsibilities
You will primarily be in charge of the following sales promotion tasks:
- Sales Productivity Improvement Planning & Promotion: (Conducting challenge interviews with sales teams, identifying issues, and planning/executing solutions.)
- Sales Knowledge Management System Development & Promotion: (Organizing and promoting the use of sales materials leveraging knowledge work.)
- Sales Onboarding Planning & Promotion: (Planning sales skill training, conducting skill assessments post-training, and promoting improvement initiatives.)
- CS Survey Planning & Promotion: (Planning and promoting CS surveys for clients, identifying issues, and proposing improvement insights to the sales team.)
Stakeholders
- Management (Executive Officers, Head of Sales, Section Managers): Proposing various measures mentioned above and reporting on their execution.
- Front-line Sales Team Members: Conducting sales interviews and providing execution support for the implementation of the above measures.
- Corporate Planning / HR & Recruitment: Planning and executing sales training programs.
- Ad Product Planning: Developing the sales knowledge management system and systematizing the creation of sales case studies.

- The entire Ad Sales Department comprises approximately 60 members.(as of January 2026)

Mandatory Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional work experience.
- Experience in Sales and/or Sales Planning.
- Ability to create plans by understanding the practicalities and circumstances of sales operations (regardless of industry).
- Ability to not only create plans but also to drive their execution.
- Ability to develop plans tailored to on-the-ground realities through communication with stakeholders before formal planning.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and lead meetings.
- Proactive individual who can identify challenges and take action independently, rather than waiting for instructions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Sales Planning, Business Planning, and/or Corporate Planning.
- Experience in planning initiatives to improve sales productivity.
- Experience in planning sales training programs.
- Experience in systematizing sales knowledge and leading related projects.
- Work experience in an environment involving multiple departments.
