Department Overview

The Point Campaign Consulting Section (PCC) is a specialized organization within the Rakuten Group that designs and builds promotional models by integrating Points, Advertising, and Data.
Rather than providing one-off point campaigns, PCC focuses on designing structured promotional frameworks that directly address each client’s marketing challenges and lead to measurable results.

PCC is responsible for the end-to-end process-from campaign planning and execution to validation and model development (Playbook creation).
A key feature of this department is the ability to analyze client challenges, design optimal promotional strategies, and drive them through to actual outcomes by combining point incentives with advertising solutions and behavioral data.

As collaboration across business units, sales, and product organizations continues to expand, we are strengthening PCC’s strategic planning and execution capabilities by hiring a dedicated strategy leader.

This role will lead end-to-end strategic initiatives, including executive-level planning, cross-functional problem structuring, transformation programs, and business process improvement.

This position will lead mid- to long-term strategic planning, key initiative execution, and business transformation across PCC while working closely with sales, product, marketing, and executive stakeholders.

We are looking for a strategic leader who can structure ambiguous business challenges, translate them into actionable strategies and execution plans, and drive initiatives through completion.

The successful candidate is expected to grow into a core management leader responsible for organizational and business strategy.

Position Details

- Conduct stakeholder interviews and structure business challenges across sales, product, and business organizations
- Develop mid- to long-term strategies and key initiatives for PCC
- Create executive-level strategic presentations and proposals
- Design KPIs, perform data analysis, and drive improvement initiatives

Work Environment

- Team Size: 8 members (lean organization in a growth and transformation phase)
- Age Range: Members range from late 20s to 40s
- Primarily composed of mid-career hires

- Professionals with experience in direct marketing, campaign design, and CRM operations

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or business planning (approximately 3 years or more)
- Experience creating executive-level presentations and strategic proposals
- Strong documentation and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Ability to gather, synthesize, and structure information across multiple stakeholders
- Capability to translate ambiguous business challenges into executable strategies
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Business-level or native-level Japanese communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in AI-driven strategy or operational transformation
- Business process re-engineering (BPR) experience
- Experience in data analysis and KPI design
- Knowledge of EC, loyalty/points business, advertising, or marketing domains
- Experience collaborating with Product Managers or product organizations
- Experience presenting to executives and senior leadership
- Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives
- Experience in new business development or business incubation
