Department Overview

The Ichiba Monitoring Group, the organization for this position, aims to protect both the stores operating on Rakuten Ichiba and the users through Rakuten Ichiba's terms and guidelines, thereby providing a safe and secure shopping environment.

- You will have opportunities to interact not only with the approximately 55,000 stores on Rakuten Ichiba but also with major manufacturing companies and government agencies, including relevant ministries. This allows you to build relationships across a wide range of fields while simultaneously improving your communication and presentation skills.

Why We Hire

In addition to diversifying lifestyles, the types of products handled by each merchant on Rakuten Ichiba are constantly changing due to recent environmental shifts. Within this context, we are seeking new ideas, unlike any before, on how to contribute to circulation while providing a safe and secure shopping environment, without being constrained by existing guidelines and terms, and ultimately protecting all stakeholders involved with Rakuten Ichiba (including users and merchants).

Position Details

For merchants operating on Rakuten Ichiba, we disseminate the store opening terms and guidelines. If these are not being followed, we provide careful consultation on store operations. We also monitor feedback from users, and when a merchant requires support from Rakuten, we involve EC consultants to help ensure the merchant can operate more safely.

Occasionally, we receive inquiries from major manufacturing companies regarding products handled within Rakuten Ichiba. In such cases, we engage in discussions with these manufacturers and take necessary actions as Rakuten Ichiba.

Furthermore, we also accept consultations and requests from administrative bodies such as relevant government ministries and agencies (e.g., Consumer Affairs Agency, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, National Police Agency). We respond to situations where revisions within Rakuten Ichiba become necessary due to legal amendments or similar changes.

Work Environment

Quality Management Section is primarily composed of young professionals in their 20s and 30s, making it a flat and energetic organization in terms of communication. Each group within the section consists of approximately 4-6 employees.

While this department primarily consists of mid-career hires, in recent years, many new graduates who joined within the last few years have also been added. Additionally, a large number of employees with backgrounds in the e-commerce industry are also part of the team.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Basic knowledge of Japanese law, especially the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations and the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act
- Proficiency in basic PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- English skill:Business Level
- Japanese skill:Native Level

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in operations and business improvement
- Experience in business promotion and improvement utilizing technologies such as generative AI and machine learning
- Experience in vendor management

TOEIC score of 800 or higher (or proof of equivalent English proficiency, or a bachelor's degree or higher from an English-speaking country).
